Are you having trouble installing third-party APKs on your Mecool KM7 Plus? You have come to the right place.
Unlike older Mecool models that run standard Android TV, the KM7 Plus features the newer Google TV interface. While this provides a modern streaming experience, Google TV's strict security measures and file permission rules can cause roadblocks when trying to sideload apps via the Downloader App.
Common Errors Users Experience on the Mecool KM7 Plus:
* Developer Options Locked: You cannot just toggle on unknown sources. You must first go to System > About and click the "Android TV OS Build" 7 times to unlock the hidden Developer menu.
* File Permission Denied: Google TV requires you to manually grant "Files and Media" permissions to the Downloader app in the settings. Without this, APKs will fail to download and save to your storage.
* Browser Plugin Required: Because this is a certified Google TV device, the built-in web browser in Downloader is disabled by default. You must install the AFTVnews plugin to surf URLs properly.
How to Fix These Issues:
If you want to bypass these new Google TV restrictions, unlock unknown sources correctly, and set up your device from scratch without bugs, our engineering team has created a complete step-by-step guide for the Mecool KM7 Plus.
