Are you having trouble installing third-party APKs on your new Google TV Streamer 4K? You are not alone.
As Google's latest evolution in streaming hardware, this device comes with an updated Google TV operating system. While it is incredibly fast, the security settings and file permissions require a few extra steps to allow sideloading via the Downloader App.
Common Errors Users Experience on the Google TV Streamer:
* Developer Options Hidden: Unlike older devices, you must manually go into System settings and click the "Android OS Build Number" 7 times to unlock the developer menu.
* File Permission Denied: Downloader will show an error if you do not explicitly grant it permission to access media and files in the App Settings.
* Browser Plugin Required: Pure Google TV devices often need the AFTVnews browser plugin installed first to surf the web and download files properly.
How to Fix These Issues:
If you want to bypass these new Google TV restrictions, unlock unknown sources correctly, and configure your device without errors, our engineering team has created a complete step-by-step guide for the Google TV Streamer 4K.
